First of all, I want to welcome you to my blog! As this is my first post, I am thrilled to be able to share my experiences of the GIF-London with you.
The GIF-London.
If you have never heard of this event or don’t know what it is about, let me introduce it to you. This year it will take place virtually because COVID-19 leaves it no other choice. The special virtual edition also marks its 10th edition. Were there only nine you may ask? The answer is “no” it is the 10th edition in the capital of the UK, London. Every edition has had a special title this means that this year's event also has one. Bring back the fun, in my opinion, it is a very actual and refreshing theme for the event. The worldwide pandemic has restricted a lot of the events that were supposed to happen. It has given me a vibe that the GIF-London still wants to be able to represent something. It was a nice touch of Selectivia International the organizers.
My expectations.
In the last couple of days, I have been thinking about what I had to expect of the event. It being my first time attending a convention of this sort makes it very interesting. This also makes it very hard to put an expectation on something you have never experienced before. Also, being online will give it an interesting turn to it. I am very thrilled to see how they are going to use this aspect. I think a convention like this can easily become a natural source of inspiration. So many speakers from different places will attend the event. This means it is going to give a very broad point of view about all the points they want to represent. I think that that is the magic to it, by getting so much input you can start and build a very stable basis to build your projects on. I am glad I was allowed to attend this event. Especially because I will get to hear speakers from around the world. Big companies attending this event are making it even more fun to go to. In my life I have never really been oriented to my country but more to the international functioning of our world. So I can probably say that I will listen with a lot of passion to what the speakers have to say. I have been taught that every little thing can be a life lesson even if you do not get it immediately. Time is a precious thing that can give you a lot of wisdom. I think that If I use this wisdom and mindset to go to the convention, I will learn many new things and have a great experience.
Interesting speakers.
When I saw the line-up of companies that were going to be represented at the event I was immediately thrilled. I could easily formulate a top three: Lego, Disney, and Facebook. When I was younger I always loved Lego toys for a matter of fact I am 19 today and I still love them. This makes me very curious to see how they work and what they have to say. Secondly, Disney, who does not like a good old Disney movie? Or even a recent one? I think Disney has brought so much to kids. But the main thing is that everything they try to do has a deeper purpose which gives it such a beautiful company. Lastly Facebook, I don’t think many people have never heard of Facebook. Being the most used social media platform in the world has to bring a lot of pressure with it. This means great coordination is needed in this company and personally, I think they are nailing it. A reason more to be very excited to hear what they do and how they work.
This was it for my first post. I hope you enjoyed reading the post and hopefully, I will see you again for the next post. Be sure to message me If you have any questions.
